WHAT: Strait Macintosh User Group
DATE: November 7th, 2012
TIME: 7:15 PM
PLACE: Port Angeles Library
PRESENTER: Jerry Freilich
TOPIC: The November SMUG meeting in Port Angeles will be another in Jerry Freilich's occasional series of programs for beginners. As in previous beginner talks, the idea will be to take some very simple Macintosh skill and then to follow audience questions and discussion wherever they happen to lead. This time Jerry will show the amazing things you can do with iChat (now called "Messages" in the latest Lion software). Many people are familiar with Skype, a widely used program that allows you to have a video chat with a friend. Well iChat is like Skype but much much better. It not only allows you to video chat with friends, but you can also send that friend pictures, show them movies, and even share your computer with them... easily, wirelessly, and for free. The software is on every Mac sold in the past five years or so but few people use it. Come join us, you'll be pleasantly amazed.
Announcement

FYI:
Tidbits asked networking guru Glenn Fleishman to explain how you can bend Messages to your will, and the fruits of his labor are now available for only $10 in the 113-page "Take Control of Messages in Mountain Lion."
