Security Update

Post by Bob Wiswell » Tue Apr 19, 2011 12:29 pm

How can I find what the latest security update is on my MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard? On my old MacBook Pro, running Tiger, I find the file in System Profiler>Logs>Software Update.log. I cannot find this file in Snow Leopard. I find the install log, but it doesn't show any of the security updates. In Tiger, I also find the info at Macintosh>Library>logs>Software Update, but Snow Leopard doesn't list the Software Update file on this same track.

I am stuck, help. I'm not sure what version is on the Snow Leopard computer.

Thanks

But, I don't see anything in this link that tells me how I find out what specific update is loaded on my computer. Did I miss something?

Have you tried:

System Preferences-->Software Update-->Installed Software

That should list everything you've downloaded and installed since the OS, in your case Snow Leopard.

Good call, Richard.

Here's a screenshot of the latest updates, which I mentioned in another thread.

By the way, why don't the two smug Ricks start Ricks' Café Américain in PA? I'd gamble eat there!

Thanks guys! That did it. Right there in System Preferences>Software Update>Installed Software tells me everything I wanted to know.

Simple when you know where to look.

I had missed that too. But I have to say it's a little strange that you can't find installed updates in Software Updates the app, but only in Software Update the Preference Pane.
