Dictation

Post by Richard Serkes » Fri Mar 16, 2012 12:23 pm

I'm using the dictation feature on the new iPad 3 to prepare this post. It seems to be working quite well. I'm going to have to figure out the bugs but that will be minor.

Is this the subset of Siri, or are you using an app that does dictation? I have Dragon Dictation on my iPhone, but only checked it out once (it worked). I wonder how they compare.

There is a microphone icon on the virtual keyboard. All I've done is tap that icon, talked and then tapped that icon again. It's the dictation feature that's built in to the new iPad. I don't know if it's a subset of Siri or if it's a new program altogether. In fact I am writing this response using the dictation feature again. I'm not typing anything, I'm just talking to the iPad.
