Another Email Photo Attachment Problem
Another Email Photo Attachment Problem
I receive email from a friend in China. He has sent pictures in the past and I have not had any problems viewing them until 2 or 3 months ago. He recently sent an attached photo that I was able to view on my iPhone but when I opened the same email on my iMac there was no picture or button for an attachment. I asked him to send another photo and again I could not see it on my iMac (did not look for it on my phone--my bad) yet the email size was 13.1 mb indicating something significant was there but not viewable.
Any ideas?

It's not China. The image below is from just our latest of many e-mails from China with photos.
Maybe the images are in a format Mail can't display inline. Try clicking the Save button and saving to your desktop. Or, if you use iPhoto, you can save all to iPhoto.

Hitting the save button would be a good idea but that is part of the problem--no save button showing. I thought something had changed on the China end until I could see the picture on my iPhone but not on my iMac--problem must be on my end.

Are you getting any e-mails with functional attachments?

Yes, the only problems I am aware of are from this China account.

Nothing that is recognizable. There is some Chinese script which is a link to Kaspersky for Business web site.

Suggest using webmail to see if anything shows there. Are you still using OlympusNet?Jim Ude wrote:Nothing that is recognizable. There is some Chinese script which is a link to Kaspersky for Business web site.

I don't know for sure but I highly doubt he is using a Mac in China. I can ask. I checked the webmail at OlympusNet but it is no longer in my inbox--good idea though.
