Sandvox 2 or Rapidweaver 5 any recommendations

Post by Joe Mirabella » Mon Jun 27, 2011 5:54 am

I'm looking to create a Web site for Club I belong to. I started with WordPress, and now looking at Sandvox 2 or Rapidweaver 5. Any suggestions or recommendations. Both products look somewhat similar. Don't know how the support for these products are.

I would have recommended iWeb, but it looks like its days are numbered. You can use iWeb and publish wherever you like, but it's not as easy as with MobileMe. I haven't used either of the apps you mention. Both have been mentioned on Macintouch, if you care to check there for comments.

I may have spoken too soon. iWeb just got a bugfix, along with bugfixes for other iLife apps. Maybe that means Apple intends to keep it alive. One would hope they would introduce features to aid migration of Mobile Me web sites and slide shows to other servers.

BTW, many people, including even large organizations, are using blog software for whole sites. There are many restrictions, but that approach does allow easy updating by others than the original designer/maintainer.
