Carbon Copy Cloner 5

Post by Stephen Hart » Thu Aug 24, 2017 12:14 pm

CCC 5 is now available. CCC 5 requires macOS 10.10 or later and is a paid upgrade. CCC 5 will be compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra when it is released.
CCC 5 is full of new and improved features. They include guided setup and restore, backup health check, new task grouping and sorting options, nifty new task history trend charts, a new task filter interface, task importing and exporting and more!

Bombich Software is getting overwhelming response to CCC 5. Best to wait a day or so while they get their server upgraded.

You talked me into it! After working with the trial version for a few hours, I decided that I liked CCC 5 better than SuperDuper (which currently does not work with High Sierra) and made the purchase.

CCC 5 does a very nice job with scheduling (see screenshot) and the license includes all Macs in a household ... both iMac and MacBook Pro in my case. I also like that is will create a Recovery partition on each backup volume, just in case you need it when doing a restore.

Setting up the schedule was very easy, too.

The task schedule view is also very cool!
