Help - Google has decided I reside in Denmark

Post by Kirsten Ruhl » Fri Apr 24, 2015 3:15 pm

It is a real nuisance: Google has at some point decided I reside in Denmark and that my preference might be places in that part of the world and communication in Danish. I have of course googled some things in Danish, first lines of poems and such.
I am not sure just when the change occurred, but it is consistent. Most of the time I get along anyway, but sometimes it really is annoying.

Is there an easy way I can get moved back to US?

So is this a language preference or an actual residence location issue? I see that Jay's comment is directed to changing one's preferred language. I was wondering if the actual geographic location was the issue.... as for example.... in the related issue of "Zones" where CD's and DVD's can be played?

Thanks, Jay and Jerry for very useful input.

I thought it was a location issue, but I just tested a bit - maybe it is just the language.

I want to remember and redo a specific search problem I encountered which was especially annoying - so for now: not clear, but I think I have ideas of how to become clear. (I just remembered what it was, now I only have to redo!)
I'll post more about it later after I work more with it.

I was not successful in replicating my most annoying experience.

So I proceeded directly to follow Jay's instructions and changed the language preference.
It made a difference. I think that might be all I needed.

Thanks again, Jay - and Jerry, too!
