Can I UNSAVE a password?

Post by Kirsten Ruhl » Wed Mar 04, 2015 10:42 am

I inadvertently clicked on "save" for a password I have purposefully avoided saving to my computer.

Now of course it is saved.

Can I unsave it? How? From where?

Kirsten,

How to delete a password depends on where it got saved to. I will guess that it was saved while using Safari (v8).

If that is the case, just go to the Passwords pane of Safari Preferences (see screenshot) ... then just click on the one you want to delete and press the Delete key.

Your password might also have ended up in your "keychain".

Just launch Keychain Access (from your Utilities folder) to see what passwords you have saved there (see screenshot).

Passwords can also be deleted from there by using the Delete key.

Ray,

You have done it once again.
Thank you very much for good (and almost instant) help.
It was under Safari Preferences - very easy to fix!
