So here's a first for me.
I was driving past Safeway and got a phone call. Fortunately it was from my [very understanding] wife.
She needed to be understanding because just as I answered, my location-based reminder for Safeway* started up. She couldn't hear me saying "Wait a minute." And I couldn't hear anything she said. Fortunately, the reminder tone only lasts 12 seconds.
But, really, shouldn't the reminder be silent, or nearly so, when a phone call is active? If I have music or an audiobook or a podcast playing, both the ongoing sound and the reminder are quiet.
Am I missing something here?
BTW, just to make sure no one thinks I'm breaking the law, I keep my iPhone in a holder where it's convenient to tap, and Speaker phone works great for answering phone calls.

This is a real pain. I've never found out how to stop these interruptions when you're making a call.

Well, one way I thought about is to choose, or make, a short, quiet reminder tone. That does reduce the chance that you'll notice the reminder.Richard Serkes wrote:This is a real pain. I've never found out how to stop these interruptions when you're making a call.

The same thing happens with incoming email when you have a call. You can't hear the person you're talking to. There should be a setting that tells your iPhone NOT to play any reminders or announcements when you're on a call.

Yes. I sent feedback to Apple.Richard Serkes wrote:The same thing happens with incoming email when you have a call. You can't hear the person you're talking to. There should be a setting that tells your iPhone NOT to play any reminders or announcements when you're on a call.
