A couple of additions, for the forum:

"Check FIRST before upgrading
• Do you have enough space? (700+ mb)
• Backup your device!!!
Transfer images and videos to your computer
UPDATE to IOS 8
• Settings —->Software Update—->Install Now —-
>Agree ….. Wait"

These points refer only to updating by way of WiFi + power. That's certainly the fastest way. But you can also update in iTunes while plugged in via USB. The download in that case is much larger, but can be done without the iPhone connected (choose Download only).
For iTunes updates, there's no requirement for free space on your iPhone.
For iTunes updates, backup is automatic, though you can also manually back up.

Camera:
With Time Lapse (many individual photos stitched together into a movie), having the camera still is important.
Slo-mo is fine hand held. The slow motion effect smooths out minor camera movements.
"Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works."
Steve Jobs
