New Numbers - where is sheet inspector?
I went ahead to experiment with opening a document in new numbers - as a cautious test to see what issues might arise - actually hoping for none.
However, what used to be a well-known and simple thing, namely changing the page layout in the sheet inspector is now a mystery. How to?

I may be off base here, but have you looked at the print preview dialog that comes up if you choose File > Print or Command P? Like Adobe apps, there's a preview pane with some features that may be different from the actual print dialog.
Also, like with Pages, you should still have an iWork 09 folder in yourdrive > Applications. The old Numbers will still be there.

Re: New Numbers - where is sheet inspector?
Thanks, Stephen
No, I had not looked at print dialog - I was used to being able to determine page orientation and see print page view prior to ever wanting to print.
I will check it out.
And, yes, I do know that thank goodness the old Numbers still works! I just thought I'd try to get up-to-date, but it is honestly a drag when the old is so good already... This is the only document I decided to experiment with new numbers - otherwise I make sure to open old numbers before opening an old document so I can just breeze along and know what I am doing whiteout having to reinvent wheels. - end of rant!

Re: New Numbers - where is sheet inspector?
Well, the whole point of the new iWork is that the file formats are consistent between OS X and iOS. Getting all the old features back is apparently taking the Apple team some time.Kirsten Ruhl wrote:I just thought I'd try to get up-to-date, but it is honestly a drag when the old is so good already...

Re: New Numbers - where is sheet inspector?
Hi Stephen,
I understand the need for consistent format for OSX and iOS.
Only in my case I don't use either Pages or Numbers in iOS and so do not need the newer version.
However, I was afraid if I don't update and use the new, the old will eventually become obsolete, but I guess I can always update myself later when I have to ---
Thanks

At the moment, any file saved from the last versions will open in the newest ones. You're right to keep tabs on this issue. Outdated software will become a problem sometime.

Kirsten,
In case you haven't found it yet, Pages (v5.2) margins are now set by clicking on the Document icon in the toolbar ... the old Inspector is now gone.

Re. Ray's note on .Pages
Not until today did I see this last entry from you, Ray
Thank you very much.
So far I am still using Pages '09 because I can just zip along and already know how to do so many things without having to think or search.
Can just do the work I want to do.
Some day I will have take the time to learn how to do all the same tricks on the new .Pages version.
sigh...
for now I zip along happily as is
