ipad & iPhone

Post by stscrs » Mon Dec 10, 2012 9:19 am

I recently purchased an iPhone 5 and was wondering if I can download photos from my iPad (1st generation ) directly to the iPhone? Thanks,

Assuming I understand what you're asking, I don't think so.

But you can e-mail the photos to yourself and get them on the iPhone.

A better method is to download the photos from the iPad to iPhoto or Aperture, then add the ones you want to an album you sync with the iPhone. That produces a full backup of the photos on your Mac, and if you're backing up the Mac properly, another backup. Generally, I think it's a good idea to keep only copies of any photos on an iPad or iPhone.

Of course, if you take photos with either device (and the iPhone 5 takes excellent photos), they'll be only on the device. If you sync your iPhone daily then you can copy or move those photos then. If they're irreplaceable photos or if it'll be a while before you sync the phone, I'd back them up somehow, for example to iCloud or by e-mailing them.
