4G?

Post by KarenColes » Fri Nov 23, 2012 1:25 pm

My husband has a first generation iPad with AT&T service which has always worked well for him. If I get him the new iPad retina display with AT&T 4G, will the 4G work here? What else do I need to know about 4G service before I make this decision?

I don't know about AT&T, but Verizon only has 3G in this area.

I got to test my iPhone on Verizon's 4G LTE in Seattle, and it's remarkably fast, probably faster than my DSL at home.

I've picked up 4G in both Sequim and Port Angeles on my iPhone using AT&T. In Seattle, I got LTE but that's Seattle.

I shouldn't have been so categorical. I only meant that I'd only noticed 3G. I haven't actually tried any kind of comprehensive checking. There must be an app for that! As a matter of fact, wouldn't that be a great app for AT&T and Verizon to develop and give away free? They could get crowd sourced info on where their signal is working.
