Got a PayPal page?

And, just as a friend, I'm a little concerned about your popcorn habit.

But seriously folks (slight return): I think someone doing Mac support should specifically offer to recover old data files (if possible). That's a huge issue.

I never have liked popcorn, sticks in my teeth.

I have used the old Macs to retrieve data for quite a few people. The steps you have to take to take files off a 400k floppy and put it on CD...connect the Mac Plus to a localtalk to ethernet adapter connected to a Color Classic with an ethernet card networked to an OS9 G4 Cube that will still burn a CD... Huge satisfaction when it works.

According to one early adopter who reported on Macintouch, you don't need to choose:
If you purchase the computer at an Apple Store and choose the trackpad option, you end up with both trackpad and mouse in the end.

I think that may have been a boo boo made by a store employee not yet trained in selling the new iMac. Apple didn't get as prosperous as it is by giving away merchandise. From what I've read you have the option of the mouse or the trackpad.

We'll have to wait for more people to buy the new iMacs and see what happens.

One more tidbit for this discussion:
Ric Ford [MacInTouch]
I just noticed that the Apple 27" LED Cinema Display is $999, so the 27" iMac costs $700 more than the monitor alone, yet it's far more powerful than a $700 Mac Mini.

Actually, Apple does sometimes do that.
When we ordered my wife's new MacBook Pro last November, we ordered an adapter for a digital display. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right adapter for the monitor in question. We called Apple to see if we could return it and they said "Don't bother returning it, we'll just credit your card."
