Any SMUG members know what our area's coverage is like for either of these services?

Virgin Mobile doesn't have any infrastructure out here but piggybacks on Sprint. So if you go to the Virgin Mobile website and look at the coverage map it's the same as Sprint. Bottom line: It will work here.

I don't know about the other one.

It looks like there's a big hole right about where my house is.
The Verizon equivalent page is useless, as I can't adjust the map.

How about Cricket? Is anyone using it? I am not an iPhone user and only use a cell phone for telephone calls. Yes I know I'm missing out all kinds of good stuff. Cricket sounds like a good deal but is it? Appreciate any experience. Thanks, ;) Bob

Apparently Cricket doesn't have any infrastructure out here and uses a partner's towers. I don't know who that is. You can check out the coverage map below for Cricket.

If you want just basic cell phone service you can have it for just $10/year after your first $100 purchase of time. It's a pay-as-you-go plan which is perfect for emergencies only. If you're interested, let me know. By the way, it's with a different carrier. Not Cricket.
