iPad Calendar .... Add Holidays

Post by riverkeeper » Mon May 21, 2012 9:41 am

My new iPad 3 does not have holidays on Calendar nor does it have an easy way to do so internally. The link below from MacRumors does it nicely. Touch the button on the page then from the following page select what you want to show on your Calendar .... I chose .. All

http://homepage.mac.com/ical/.calendars ... lidays.ics

Something's wrong with the URL you posted. Here's what I see:

I used to have two copies of US Holidays on my iPhone, now I have none, though I'm subscribed to US Holidays on my iMac. I'll research this a bit.

I found this page in a google search.
This procedure worked for me to add back US Holidays.

Note that this refers to Mobile Me, so it may not work after June 30.

Still researching.

Open iCal on your iMac and select add holidays. Using iCloud your iThingie calendar will mirror everything in your iCal. Easy peasy!

I haven't made the switch from Mobile Me yet. It's puzzling that I had to resubscribe on my iPhone. US Holidays has always been on my iCal calendar.

I'm not near my iMac right now so I can't check but as I remember it, US Holidays is an option in iCal. You have to check a box in Preferences to get the holidays.

OK, when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. The US Holidays as a Preferences option is in BusyCal not iCal. I just checked iCal and don't find it. I guess you could open iCal and go to Calendar/Find Subscriptions and then subscribe to the US Holidays calendar. I haven't subscribed to a calendar in quite some time but I remember doing so to keep up with the Seahawks back when they actually won a few games.
