If you have an iPhone or iPad, you probably know that you can make a URL into an app icon to put on your home screen for quick access.
But these are really web clips, not just URLs. So if you zoom in on some portion of the web page in question, that's what you'll see when you click the icon on the iPhone.
I used this today while I was troubleshooting intermittent DSL and phone problems. I wanted to check the DSL modem from my iPhone, so I first navigated to my modem's status web page (192.168.0.1/modemstatus_home.html). Then I zoomed on the status part of the page to fit my iPhone's screen. Finally, I used the Send icon to make a web clip.
These instructions also show how to make sure your web site has the app icon you want. I also tried that for Olympic Natural History, and it worked.
There will be no dues for 2018 until further notice, and all meetings in 2018 will be in Sequim!
