iPhone 5 resumes audio inappropriately

Post by Stephen Hart » Wed Oct 17, 2012 1:27 pm

I've noticed this problem on my iPhone 5:
I'll unplug my iPhone's headphone cable to my car, pausing the audio that was playing.
Some time later, I'll get a phone call. When I hang up the call, the audio resumes where it left off.
It's as if iOS thinks the audio was paused by the incoming call.

I'm not the only one:

I haven't figured out if this only happens under certain circumstances, like when I stop a podcast in my car by removing the audio cable. I also haven't tested it on my wife's iPhone 4s.

According to What's New in Verison 1.1.2 of Podcasts, released today, Apple has fixed this issue:

But the iTunes U app does the same thing, resumes after a phone call. I hope Apple knows it has the same bug.
