iPhone X "Emergency" screen

Post by Ray Bentsen » Thu Nov 16, 2017 9:19 pm

An interesting unintended consequence of using Face ID on the iPhone X is that the "Emergency" feature located on the passcode screen (see screenshot) is now not easily available to you ... since just looking at the lock screen unlocks the phone and passcode screen is bypassed!

The only way to use this feature (or get the screenshot) is to keep the iPhone facing away from you and swiping up on the lock screen!

It is comforting, however, to know that someone other than yourself can use this feature (ie. calling 911) ... like when you may be unconscious.

There is, of course, another way to make an emergency call (and access your Medical ID info) with the iPhone X ...

And if not, why not?
