As shown in the video, many of the iPhone X gestures require swipes from the very bottom of the screen. For that reason I modified my Griffin Survivor Strong case, cutting off the bottom ridge. Using gestures is much easier now! ;)

FWIW, these thin plastic cases appear to ride below the glass surface, and shouldn't interfere with thumb swipes. $20 - $30.
