iPhone 6 Charger

Post by Stephen Hart » Wed Oct 01, 2014 9:03 am

Jerry asked if the new charger was identical to the old ones. It's not, but has the same specs.
Here are some photos for comparison.
The one that came with my iPhone 6 is model A1385, made in China.
The older charger is the one with the green dot. All 3 or 4 older ones we have are model A1265, made in China.

Here's Apple's page. Note that the iPad mini uses the same charger as iPhones--not just a similar one. The image on this page shows a model A1385, but with a label more like the older chargers shown above.

One poster on Macintouch wrote that the iPad mini retina seems to come with an iPad power supply, not the iPhone power supply as Apple lists for the iPad mini.

Note that you do not want to buy cheap chargers, like the ones sold alongside impulse-buy candy.
