We've switched iPhones a number of times, and it usually goes smoothly. Not this time. We just spent a couple of hours getting my wife using my iPhone 5 (which I replaced with an iPhone 6).
First off, when we restored from her backup, the phone didn't change phone numbers. That took a Verizon chat and two restarts to finally get straightened out. (Activating my iPhone 6 on the Verizon web site was a breeze.)
Then the iPhone 5 was still syncing with my iTunes. Another restore from backup (carefully finding the backup from first thing this morning, not the backup with the same name from an hour ago) finally fixed that.
Then we had to set up some settings, and she still has to reorganize all her app icons.
Whew!
