Sketching Apps

Post by Stephen Hart » Wed May 04, 2011 6:36 am

In a previous post, I mentioned SketchBook Mobile, a free app that offers many pen styles, unlimited colors and layers. My intended use is for rough sketches or to hand annotate a photo, for example. Users with actual art ability could do much more.

Here's an alternative: Adobe Ideas. See the description in the screenshot below. It's intended to interact with Creative Suite apps.
$5.99 plus $0.99 per layer up to ten layers.

Another sketching app that might appeal to those who know about mechanical drawing or architecture:
IsoSketch ($2.99; iPad) is a drawing program for creating vector-based isometric designs, with an angled isometric grid, .svg output, layers, strokes and fills, multiple undo, and other features.
