iPhone X Photography
Here's a review of iPhone X from a photographer's perspective.

I'm eager to test the iPhone X camera. I guess we'll probably have some good weather by next June.

This is good weather. Maybe you should visit Chicago, or New England this weekend.Stephen Hart wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2017 5:40 pmI'm eager to test the iPhone X camera. I guess we'll probably have some good weather by next June.
Anyway, I am sure you can find something to take a photo of this holiday season!

Oh, OK.
From the front of our house, Klahane Ridge in the background. Taken yesterday. There's still patches of snow on the ground.

Re: iPhone X Photography
As no thread on iPhone photography would be complete without a kitty photo, I submit this one.
I should have had the presence of mind to use Portrait mode, but didn't, so all you get is depth of field.
The only manipulation after my iPhone X photo was using Perspecive Crop in Photoshop to make the fireplace look less tipped over backward.

Re: iPhone X Photography Portrait
Portrait Mode isn't so great for cats
or Sofie gets a haircut
First pair is normal on the left portrait on the right
Second pair is the same but a close-in detail

In Apple's lates ad touting the iPhone X Portrait Mode, I detect a nod to Luxo Jr.

Re: iPhone X Photography
BTW, here's my most ambitious iPhone X photography project so far, a three-hour-long time lapse of a Thatching Ant hill. The resulting video is 24 MB, which should be no problem for those of you lucky enough to have high-speed internet. At some point I'll see if I can compress it more.
I shot it on iPhone X in ordinary time-lapse mode from about 9:00 am to about noon. I retimed the video it to 50% speed in Final Cut, and "Shared" for Apple devices.
(If you can't stand ants, it's probably best to skip this video.)

I imagine it set to music:
Act 1 (no direct sun on cool, damp anthill) Morning from Peer Gynt, Grieg
Act 2 (the ants emerge from the hill) Something frantic, like Raymond Scott - Powerhouse (1937)
Act 3 (as the sun really heats the hill and the ants back away in awe) Also Sprach Zarathustra
