Select Text in QuickLook

Post by Stephen Hart » Thu Mar 15, 2012 4:18 pm

I think QuickLook is misunderestimated. It's actually very handy in a lot of circumstances.
But like text clips a few OS generations ago, you can't select text in a QuickLook view. Or can you?

Here's a tip from the current Macworld.

Open Terminal

copy and paste the following:

Code: Select all

defaults write com.apple.finder QLEnableTextSelection -bool TRUE; killall Finder
hit return, and now you can select and copy from QuickLook.

To reverse this command, open Terminal, paste the following and hit return:

Code: Select all

defaults delete com.apple.finder QLEnableTextSelection; killall Finder
