Quality Audio For Real Ears

Post by Stephen Hart » Wed Mar 07, 2012 3:37 pm

Some SMUG members may have read that Neil Young and Steve Jobs discussed audio quality in the past. Young is campaigning for good quality downloadable audio.
You may also have read that Apple has announced Mastered for iTunes, information and apps that help audio engineers make sure that iTunes audio they distribute sounds they way they want it to.

But achieving a higher quality listening experience is more than just deriding mp3 or compression in general. Here's an article on the subject that's extremely thorough, maybe too thorough for most folks. But if you want to understand what this stuff is all about, this is a good place to start.
"Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works."
Steve Jobs
