Numbers 5 Question

Here's a Numbers question I haven't found an answer to:

I have a table and a graph, with dates (date format) on the x axis.

Is there a way to add a notation to a date? Say I want to highlight one date with a very short note.

Not knowing exactly what you are trying to accomplish, the only thing I can think of is to add a "quote bubble" as a Shape object.

Hmm. I'll look into that. I was thinking of something much more mundane, for example:
