New feature in Pages - Image Gallery

Post by Ray Bentsen » Wed Mar 28, 2018 10:54 pm

Here is an interesting new feature in both the iOS and MacOS versions of Pages (v7.0) ... the ability to add an interactive Image Gallery.
A single frame can be configured to contain a scroll-able collection of photos ... and yes, each photo can have its own caption.

Below is a screenshot from the iOS version of Pages.

Very cool.

The same feature works even better in Keynote. Each slide can have its own Image Gallery.
In slideshow mode, a photo gallery can be advanced on a Mac by clicking on the photos , and swiping the photos if viewing on an iPad.

Also very cool.

Another interesting discovery regarding Image Gallery in Keynote is that each photo object is a "build", so photos can be advanced automatically and/or with different actions. (see first screenshot). Now one Keynote presentation can have multiple slides, with each slide having its own slideshow of photos ... including captions. (see second screenshot)

Very powerful, and versatile! ;)
