Backup from Camera Card

Post by Stephen Hart » Tue Jul 18, 2017 5:38 pm

I didn't know until recently that Aperture has an import setting for backup. If you select it, you can specify a location for Aperture to make backup copies of each image file into a folder during every import. As far as I can see, Photos 2 does not have Import settings.

If you're worried about the possibility of losing camera files, or want an archive before you delete all the "bad" photos, this might be a great feature. On the other hand, if you have Time Machine running, it could also duplicate all your photos on your backup drives, which might be a good thing or a bad thing.
