This is my test to responding to a post. Will my Avatar show up or do I have to recreate it?
Edit: Looks like I have to recreate it.

As you can see, I was successful in adding my avatar.

Bob, you'll have to upload it to the new forum. Ray has a mini-tutorial under Instructions/Beyond The Basics that will walk you through the process.

Sample of image tags: 8-) It would be nice to be able to embed video.

The good news is that avatars are easier with this system. You attach them just like attaching an image to a message.

O.K. Jay. Let's see if I can embed a short .m4v video here (after changing a setting in the Admin panel):
Smart Cover.m4v
(2.95 MiB) Downloaded 1369 times
FYI, the size limit is currently set at 5 Mb.

The group of currently acceptable extensions includes m4a, m4v, mov, and qt.

:geek:

It looks like it works. Click on the first link to play the video in iTunes, and click on the second link to download the video file.

Video doesn't play for me within Safari. I do get audio, though.
In Firefox 3.x, I get neither audio nor video.
Download works fine. And a nice ad, I might add.

Thanks Ray, that video option is pretty cool. One forum I frequent allows users to paste in a YouTube url and the video appears inline in the post. Might be handy for training purposes.

Play QuickTime did nothing.
YouTube link worked.
elskfire.mov downloaded.
