Donating used equipment

Post by ckinyon » Sat Jul 02, 2016 12:06 pm

Does anyone know a place we can donate used electronics. Printers that are NOT wiFi, older iPads, and iPods....these are not broken, just older models that we do not use any longer. I have an 2nd Gen iPad in excellent condition, and a Canon Pixma 500 color printer. old iPod needs a new battery.

Goodwill takes all electronics--including TVs--working or not. They will properly recycle nonworking ones, and sell pretty much anything that works. I mark working electronics.

eCycle, 272693 US-101, Sequim, WA 98382, takes all electronics for recycling. The last time I was there, they said they'll start charging for inkjet printers because they have to pallet those together and it takes so long to get enough.

The Kiwanis Club takes some electronics: http://www.straitmac.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=419

You can sometimes sell or give away older electronics here on the SMUG forum.

You might be able to replace the battery in the iPod: https://www.ifixit.com/Search?query=iPod
