purchased items transfer to ITunes

Post by Ed Grier » Fri Jan 09, 2015 11:06 am

I wish to update the OS on my iPad.
When I download the update information to my Macbook Pro I get the following:

"There are purchased items on the iPad “Nancy and Ed's iPad” that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPad. Are you sure you want to continue?"

I don't know how to transfer the items.
I don't even know the titles of the items.
I don''t know if I am trying to transfer from the iPad to the iTunes on the iPad or to ITunes on the Macbook Pro.

Help

This could arise if you deleted some purchased item in iTunes, but didn't delete it on the iPad.
If you plug in the iPad and sync it*, you should get the same message, and you can choose to copy from the iPad to iTunes on your Mac. If it turns out to be something you don't want, you need to delete it both in iTunes and on the iPad.

*Assuming it works properly, you should be able to sync without plugging in the iPad, as long as it's logged into the same WiFi network as your Mac. Occasionally there are hitches, and the iPad won't show up in iTunes when not plugged in, or won't sync. If you're still on iOS 8.1.1 or earlier, you may have more problems with WiFi syncing. 8.1.2 fixed some issues with WiFi syncing.

Thanks Stephen,
To heck with it.

AGAIN, I don't know the titles of the items.
I don't know how to transfer the items.
I don't care. I just want to upgrade the iPad.

Next time the message comes up, I will continue.
I do believe the iPad is frustrating to me.
I will send you my next dilemma in another message.
One of my (many) problems is that I don't read very fast or remember.

Thanks again.
