This is not a valid AppleWorks file.

What shall I do to open an 2011 file that would not open in PAGES.
The computer message was "This is not a valid AppleWorks file."

Here are two tips:

1. If this is Pages 5.2.2 you're talking about, try Pages 4.3. It may well still be in the iWork '09 folder in yourharddrive/Applications.

Isn't it also true that Word can open these files? You might try that, assuming you have a version of Word. Don't double-click it. Open Word and then try to open the file from within Word. Alternately, someone else who has Word could do this.
