Flash removal

I am not a photoshop type but I would like to remove the flash from the attached photo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You might look up "remove flash washout with Photoshop." Maybe there's a trick I don't know about.

But I think it's a lost cause. You can improve the photo's light balance with Shadows/Highlights in Photoshop or Aperture or another image manipulation tool. That'll help with the outdoor light in the windows. The problem with really, really bright highlights, (or completely black patches) though, is that there are no pixels there to manipulate. Anything you do to reduce the brightness there will end up looking very faked.

If you had a nearly identical photo without the flash, you could try a head transplant.

You are right. It is a lost cause. My solution now is to arrange another photo at another time.
