iPhoto problem

Jay. I did as you suggested and when the computer restarts and opens, the card reader opens and iPhoto then opens and automatically imports the images.
Bob, then when I open Image Capture, a box opens and I can download the photos in Pictures.
I disconnect card reader and restart , then connect card reader after restart and the card reader is not shown.

Yes, I want to thank all of your Bob, Richard, Stephen and Jay for hanging in . Now I can post my photos into either iPhoto or Image Capture. A great bunch of techie's.

Jerry's suggestion to test it in another user account was a big assist in troubleshooting as that move ruled out camera, memory card, and everything else outside the user account.

Thanks for the credit for using a "dummy" user account ... but really, it's pretty much standard Apple recommended procedure. Glad it fixed your problem, Jim!
