As has happened a few times in the past, I found I had to force Spotlight to reindex after installing High Sierra. Spotlight wasn't finding apps, for example. It's possible that it found them after I'd opened them once by hand.

Forcing a reindex the simplest way:

Navigate to System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy

Click the + button and add your hard drive. Close System Preferences. This will prevent Spotlight from indexing your hard drive and will delete the current Spotlight index.

Navigate to System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy
Select your hard drive, click the - button to delete your hard drive from the list. This will cause Spotlight to rebuild its index.
