Fraction Math and Siri

Post by Stephen Hart » Thu Nov 30, 2017 4:17 pm

I saw a tip in a recent Fine Homebuilding magazine about doing math on fractions. This is a common issue in woodworking, and there are physical and iOS fraction calculators that attempt to solve the problem.

This woodworker's tip? Ask Siri!
This allows the most natural input, and avoids touching your iPhone while in the shop. (Dust: for sure; oil or grease: possible; epoxy glue: I don't even want to think about it.)
You do have to have the iPhone (or iPad) somewhere close enough for Siri to hear.

My wife, Karen, just tried this while working on a sewing pattern, and it worked like a charm.
