The Dock and App Switcher/Control Center on an iPad

Post by Ray Bentsen » Sat Jul 15, 2017 11:42 pm

The Dock in iOS 11 on an iPad is now accessible from ANY screen ... just swipe up from the bottom of the screen (first screenshot)
Note that you can add more icons to the Dock, and that recently used app icons show up at the right of the Dock. Then you can just swipe the Dock downwards to make it disappear.

And whenever the Dock is showing, you can just swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get the App Switcher/Control Center screen (second screenshot) From the App Switcher screen you can switch to any app using one of the new "full screen" thumbnail icons.

Very cool !!

Released today, iOS 11 radically reworks the iPad's multitasking system, adding not just the Mac-like Dock and the Files app, but a new task switcher and easier launching of Split View. It's also possible to drag-and-drop between apps, whether open or closed.
