This is not specific to iOS 10.
If you keep getting autocorrected for a word, here are a couple of ways to tell iOS to learn this spelling. (It's easier in OS X.)
1. Tap the x in the popup bubble just before the autocorrect takes place. A few instances of this will teach iOS the word. The trouble is that I have a hard time remembering to do this. Or the x is too small.
2. After typing the word, hit the spacebar as usual. Autocorrect will take place as expected. Now hit backspace (delete). You'll get a new popup allowing you to choose your preferred spelling. Supposedly, this instantly adds the word to the iOS dictionary.
