Screenshots?

Post by Stephen Hart » Sun Mar 12, 2017 10:08 am

Here's a description of how to take a screenshot from an Apple TV 4g. It requires a USB to USBC cable, so it wouldn't be very convenient in many setups, as you need a TV tethered to the Apple TV tethered to a Mac.

Has anyone in SMUG tried this? I would be surprised if it breaks Apple's now longstanding software prohibition against screenshots of commercial video.

Screenshot works. I didn't try capturing video.

Note that the filename assigned to the screenshot includes a date and time stamp. Nice.

Cool, Ray. Did you try to get a screenshot of a streaming video from, say Netflix or Filmstruck, or a commercial DVD?
