iOS 9.0.2 on iPad Air 2 problem, help, help

I updated my iPad Air 2 yesterday to 9.0.2. In trying to get the "reader" to work, I unintentionally activated Voice Over, now the iPad is locked up. It will not accept any inputs from the screen unless they are double-tapped, and even then will not accept my Pass Code. So I seem to have a very expensive paper weight.

Do any of you have any suggestions?

Thanks,

These two pages seem to address the problem you're seeing, without having to restore the iPad in iTunes. Let us know if you've solved the problem.

I've never encountered this problem, so I'm just passing on what I found in a Google search.

I have no idea if it is proper to reply to your own email, but here goes:

My first mistake was in activating "Voice Over" which reads you everything you touch on the screen which is great if you are blind (which I Only am after a few gins).

I went to MacTraders and the lady there fixed the problem in minutes. It would seem that the only way to enter anything in Voice Over is to
Tap the required button once, pause 10 milliseconds +/- and then double tap it. So for each character entered you must do three taps. I read the part about doing two taps, but missed the one about selecting the button to be tapped.

So, to unlock my iPad, I had to go to the opening screen, find the slider at the bottom and don't slide it, Tap tap-tap gets you to the Pass Code screen. To enter your pass code (assuming it is 1 2 3 4) is to
tap 1 then tap-tap it
tap 2 then tap-tap it
tap 3 then tap-tap it
tap 4 then tap-tap it

Then to turn off Voice Over, go to Settings button, tap it then tap-tap it, the General, etc., etc., etc.

It cost me $25 but I consider it cheap tuition.

They have been able to help me every time I have gone in there so 3 cheers for Mac Traders.

Cool! I'm glad it worked out.
