Push Notification Glitch

Post by Stephen Hart » Fri Sep 20, 2013 12:58 pm

I don't know whether this is related to iOS 7 or not, but when I clicked on The New Yorker app, I got a notification that I had to enable Push Notifications in iTunes. And I couldn't dismiss the notification. I finally figured out that if I double clicked the Home button very quickly after I tried to dismiss the message, I could force quit the app.

Looking on the web, most mentions said the fix was to use jailbreaking software to deauthorize your phone, then reauthorize it again. (I'm not as dumb as I look. I would never use software explicitly designed to overcome Apple's privacy and safety fortress.)

One site mentioned merely restoring the iPhone.
That did the trick, and I was able to sign in to The New Yorker as usual.
