Wake on LAN?

Post by Stephen Hart » Tue Dec 04, 2012 4:30 pm

There's a feature that I'd like to implement called wake on LAN. Basically what I'd like to do is be able to wake a sleeping Mac that's on my local area network.

Both Macs are running Mountain Lion.

Anyone in SMUG solved this?

Does Wake for network access (System Prefs > Energy Saver) work? I haven't tried it.

I have that turned on, but then what? When the MacBook Pro is completely asleep, there's no indication on my iMac that it's on the network.
