Apps that capture sound

Post by Stephen Hart » Thu Jul 26, 2012 9:08 am

Snapz Pro X has a couple of problems in Mountain Lion. The most important is that the kext it uses for sound capture is not supported in Mountain Lion. In fact, the install removes the kext.

I've read reports of other such apps, such asAudio Hijack Pro having the same problem. (Rogue Amoeba rolled out an Audio Hijack update in June that's supposed to deal with Mountain Lion. There are no new notes on their web site since Mountain Lion went wild.)

The folks at Ambrosia software are busy updating Snapz, and I assume the same is true of other developers.

Rogue Amoeba has now fixed all audio-capture issues its software (such as AudioHijack Pro) had with Mountain Lion.

Ambrosia Software says they'll roll out a fee update to SnapzPro X in October. It will be fully Mountain Lion compatible and will include bug fixes.
