Mail Default Send Account

If you have multiple e-mail accounts in Mail, you may have run into an annoyance where you send an e-mail from the wrong account.

Sometimes, this can't be helped. If you respond to an e-mail sent to your spouse, the default sending account will always be the spouse's account.

But what if you find new mail defaulting to an account other than the one you want as default? I just had that experience and tracked down this procedure, which is different from some earlier versions of Mail:

1. Open the Inbox with the reveal triangle.
2. Click and drag the accounts to the order you want.
3. Quit Mail and then start it up again. (This is crucial.)
