iBooks

New to Mavericks is the Mac app iBooks. This app allows you to read any iBook or multimedia iBook on your Mac. That's a great advance. Anything you read on your Mac will be updated to all your iThingys, so you can read a few pages at home, and still be on the same page while waiting at the Dentist's office for your root canal.

You should know, however, that iBooks has disappeared from iTunes. All books are handled by iBooks.app now.

iBooks on the Mac can also be used as a central organizing point for pdf documents. These open in Preview, but you can use iBooks or organize them
