How to convert iPhoto Events to Albums in Photos after transferring iPhoto library to Photos:
1. Go to Albums window in Photos
2. In View Menu select show Sidebar
3. At the bottom of the list under the Albums heading go to the folder labeled “iPhoto events” then double click to open it and see all your iPhoto Events
4. Select the events you wish to convert or click Command + A to select all events
5. Then Control+click and choose Move album out of "iPhoto Events"
6. Voila! Once you do this, all your iPhoto events will be individual albums listed in Photos album section.

And once you have all your iPhoto Events migrated to Photos Albums, you can just drag them into any order you want ... like alphabetical order, for example.
