Wanted: iPod Touch

Post by Richard Serkes » Sun Dec 24, 2017 9:26 am

I have a friend who would like an iPod Touch to load with bird and flower apps for his walks. Do you have one sitting around somewhere not doing anything? If so, would you be willing to give it a good home? This senior would take good care of it and use it for his daily (almost) walks in the Sequim area.

If you have one and would like to pass it on just give me a shout at rserkes@mac.com.

An old iPhone might make a good substitute.

Here are some apps that we have used:
Sibley Birds
iBird Plus (recommended by SMUG ex president Jerry Freilich)
Merlin Bird ID
WA Flowers
(There's also a Washington rare plants app, but it hasn't been updated for iOS 11, so may be moribund.)
I'm not sure how these would work with no internet connection.

Speaking of birds, here's a winter visitor at our house, even during 20-something degree days:
