Re: Time Machine

Bob, I would strongly recommend that you get Dave Hannon (or someone) to get this fixed for you. I'm pretty sure Rick is on the right track. Multiple iPhoto libraries are OK for SuperPowerUsers, but not for us mortals. I'm sure you can get them all coalesced into the default iPhoto Library location,...

Re: Apple TV

But at 7 times the price, isn't the mini in a whole 'nother category? BTW, how much can an iPhone interact with an ATV? I know the Remote app controls ATV, but can that work if the ATV is headless? [Later addition: According to one poster on Macintouch, yes, the Remote app works fine with the ATV no...

Re: Time Machine

First thing is I can't figure out how you get images of the desktop while in TM. I have to take a picture of my screen with my digital camera, "developed' it and then capture it again with snapNdrag. and so on... I used SnapzProX to make a movie as I opened Time Machine. I couldn't get the usual sc...

Re: Time Machine

Thank you Jerry :: When I get a reply to a question I usually write down the solution in steps that I can follow. In this case you wrote 1. Open TM I did that, with no apps open. This is like a computer game ;). You need to go back to my earlier message. I'll try again here in the hope of making it...

Re: Apple releases fix for boot issues in current iMacs

Same thing here. My mid 2010 iMac didn't need the update.
I suspect this may be for certain hard drives.

Re: Apple TV

So this is getting me thinking about other options. Is there anything an Apple TV would do that a MacBook Air 11" would not? The reason I ask is that we have a PowerBook used to stream radio with a wireless connection to our DSL modem and send it to our stereo. That requires an interface. So a MacBo...

Re: Time Machine

I don't have iPhoto 8 and Leopard running, but here are some comments. TM acts in a special way when you invoke it from the Menu Bar while iPhoto is the frontmost app. In that case, TM shows an iPhoto window. It may take a good deal of time for that window to show images, because TM has to load the ...

Re: Flat-Screen TV as Monitor

you can use RCA cables if you like clutter I just finished making two large computer desks preparatory to moving our office and then working on the room it's in now. (And then moving it back.) Each has a 24" x 4" cutout on the back edge, with a shelf 4" below the cutout to hold a power strip out of...

Re: Flat-Screen TV as Monitor

Thanks. How's the volume on such speakers? We sometimes find that older movies have poor soundtracks, both in quality and volume. It would be convenient to have less cable clutter. The system we have now is a kludge, with a regular TV plus computer speakers (with bass unit) running out of the DVD pl...
