Re: Air Drop not working.

I have no idea how I got that set wrong in the first place. I think I figured this out. In following this procedure to share one contacts list, I inadvertently ended up with two Me names in the shared contacts list. I think deleting one of those and then adding one of the persons back as a regular ...

iPhone Tip: Accept a call but silence ringer

I've been getting a lot of advertising calls ("Top-rated Hotels!!") in the last few days. They're all spoofed to look like calls from Washington state. Two cases, calls from Olympia, WA, could have been from extended family members who aren't in my Contacts list. So if you want to silence your iPhon...

Re: Air Drop not working.

I've always had trouble with AirDrop. One of the worst issues is that a device has to be awake. For example, on my iMac, I can watch my iPhone AirDrop icon disappear and reappear as my iPhone screen goes dark, and I wake it up again. Conversely, I can watch on my iPhone as my AirDrop icon goes away ...

Re: Phishing

Here's one that's new to me. It's a bit more devious than usual, in that the email itself contains no bogus links, only a pdf attachment. But that pdf does contain bogus links.
Well worth reading:

Re: Photos App

You could, of course set up several Smart Albums that are preset for different functions. Smart Albums are almost universally described with a fixed set of criteria, with their main function to automatically organize newly added photos. I hadn't thought before to use a Smart Album with the criteria ...

Re: Photos App

A little more on using a Smart Album as an Advanced Search function. To use a Smart Album this way, you'd normally first have to click the Advanced Search Smart Album. And it won't always be in the same place because albums are sorted alphabetically. Then you'd control click and choose Edit Smart Al...

Mojave Books.app

A number of books I have in Books.app won't open. I get a message saying to reinstall iTunes (??), but of course, I can't because iTunes is incorporated into Mojave.
